Power Rangers actress Sarah Grey has reportedly been cast to play Stargirl in the forthcoming season of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, in accordance with IGN’s‘s article. Stargirl will appear as part of the Justice Society of America for the CW show’s sophomore season, with Hourman (Patrick J. Adams), Vixen (Amaya Jiwe)), Commander Steel (Matthew McCaull), and the as-of-yet uncast Dr. Mid-Nite and Obsidian.
The following segment is from Newsarama.
Stargirl was created by Geoff Johns in tribute to his late sister Courtney Johns, and debuted in 1999’s Stars & S.T.R.I.P.E.S. #0. Courtney Whitmore is the stepdaughter of the original Star-Spangled Kid’s partner, Pat Dugan, who takes up a superhero life after finding his gear among her step-father’s belongings.. She later joins the Justice Society of America and inherits Jack Knight’s cosmic staff.
Grey is no stranger to comic book adaptations, having guest-starred in both Fox’s Lucifer and the CW’s iZombie. Grey is also part of the ensemble cast of 2017’s Power Rangers film
On a personal note, I fell in love with Stargirl in the JSA ALL-STARS series, and when we got to see her on Smallville.
